Who we are

COMANORA (comanora.co.uk) is operated by Marian Viorel Coman, a sole trader trading as COMANORA, 19 Tinshill Mount, Leeds, LS16 7AY, United Kingdom. We are the controller of the personal data described on this page. The operator of COMANORA paid the ICO data protection fee on 6 November 2026; we will add the registration number here when the ICO issues it.

Contact for anything about your data: [email protected].

The short version

  • You don’t need an account to use COMANORA, and we don’t ask for your name or email unless you write to us.
  • Giving us personal data is voluntary. If you email us, we need your email address to reply.
  • Our tools (the boiler compatibility checker and the heating savings calculator) run in your browser. Your answers are not sent to us.
  • The comparison feature remembers the products you chose in your browser’s local storage only. You can clear it at any time.
  • We don’t set advertising or tracking cookies (see our cookie policy).
  • We don’t sell personal data.

What we collect and why

Data Why we use it Lawful basis (UK GDPR) How long we keep it
Emails you send us and our replies: your name (if you give it), email address and the message To reply, fix errors you report and handle complaints or data requests Legitimate interests: answering the people who contact us Our retention period is 24 months after our last exchange. After that period we delete them, unless the law requires us to keep a record for longer (for example, tax or accounting records)
Technical data your browser sends when you visit (such as IP address, browser type, page requested and time) To deliver the website and protect it from abuse Legitimate interests: running a secure website Processed by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, which keeps it for as long as is consistent with the purposes described in its privacy policy; Cloudflare does not publish a fixed period. We do not download or keep our own copies
Aggregated page statistics — not in use today; only if we switch on cookieless Cloudflare Web Analytics To see which pages are useful Legitimate interests: improving the website Aggregated counts only; no individual profiles

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have assessed that our interests are not overridden by yours, and we keep the data to the minimum needed. You can object at any time (see “Your rights”).

We do not make decisions about you by automated means, and we do not profile visitors.

Service providers we use

We use these service providers. Apart from them, we only share personal data with others if the law requires it (for example, a valid request from a court or regulator).

  • Cloudflare, Inc. — hosts the website, protects it from attacks and forwards emails sent to our @comanora.co.uk addresses. Cloudflare may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. For transfers from the UK it states that it relies on its certification under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and on standard contractual clauses where needed (Cloudflare privacy policy).
  • Google (Gmail) — the mailbox where emails to [email protected] and [email protected] are delivered and stored, provided under Google’s own terms and privacy policy. Google may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Google states that it complies with the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and relies on standard contractual clauses where required (Google privacy frameworks).
  • Resend (United States) — the service we use to send our email replies from [email protected] and [email protected]. Resend processes on our behalf the recipient’s email address, the content of the reply and delivery information (for example, whether the recipient’s mail server accepted or rejected the message). Resend keeps a copy of each sent reply, including its content, together with its delivery log for 30 days, the data retention period of our plan. We send through Resend’s European region (Ireland), but Resend states that it processes data in the United States. For transfers from the UK, Resend’s data processing addendum uses the standard contractual clauses together with the UK Addendum (Resend privacy policy, Resend data processing addendum).
  • No email tracking. We do not use open or click tracking: no tracking image is added to our emails and the links in them are not changed.
  • Our own computer — copies of the messages are also kept in our email program (Mozilla Thunderbird) on the computer we use to run COMANORA.

When you follow a link to a shop, you leave COMANORA and the shop’s own privacy policy applies. If we later join affiliate programmes, the shop or affiliate network may record that you arrived from COMANORA; links where this can happen are marked Ad.

Your rights

UK data protection law gives you rights over your personal data. Some always apply; others apply only in certain circumstances, and some have legal exceptions:

  • Access — you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — you can ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Deletion — you can ask us to delete your data, for example when we no longer need it or when you object and we have no overriding reason to keep it. We may keep data the law requires us to keep, or that we need for legal claims.
  • Restriction — in some situations, for example while we check a correction you asked for, you can ask us to limit how we use your data.
  • Objection — because we rely on legitimate interests, you can object to our use of your data. We will then stop unless we have compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, or we need the data for legal claims.
  • Data portability — this right applies only to data processed on the basis of consent or a contract by automated means, so it does not usually apply to the processing described on this page.

To make a request, email [email protected]. We may ask for information to confirm your identity. We reply within one month. The law allows this to be extended by up to two further months only for complex or numerous requests; if that applies, we will tell you within the first month and explain why. It is free, unless a request is clearly unfounded or excessive.

Complaints

If you think we have not handled your personal data in line with data protection law, you can complain to us at [email protected]. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days of receiving it, look into it, keep you informed and tell you the outcome without undue delay.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, helpline 0303 123 1113.

Children

COMANORA is written for adults choosing products for their home. It is not directed at children and we don’t knowingly collect children’s data.

Changes

If we change how we use personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
