About us

Last reviewed 5 November 2026

COMANORA helps people in the UK choose smart home technology that suits their home. We cover smart heating — thermostats, radiator valves, heat-pump controls and energy monitors — and home security, with video doorbells and security cameras. We add a category only when we have researched enough real products to make it useful.

What we do

  • Check compatibility with UK homes: combi, system and regular boilers, heat pumps and OpenTherm for heating; power, existing chimes and Wi-Fi for doorbells and cameras; and what renters can fit.
  • Show the real cost, including hubs, bridges, delivery and subscriptions — such as the yearly plan many video doorbells and cameras need to keep recordings — with the date every price was checked.
  • Compare shops: where we have verified more than one UK shop, offers are sorted by price, with in-stock offers first — never by commission.
  • Label honestly: every product page shows clearly whether the product is “Researched” (from official documentation, not used by us) or “Tested” (genuinely installed and used by us).

Who runs COMANORA

COMANORA is run by Marian Viorel Coman, a sole trader trading as COMANORA in the United Kingdom, who writes and edits the website. Articles and pages are signed “COMANORA”.

We use software tools, including AI, to help with research and writing. We check the important information — such as compatibility, specifications, prices and subscription costs — against relevant sources, mainly the manufacturers’ and retailers’ own official documentation and product pages, and we list the main sources on each product page. We do not invent writers, experts, credentials or test results.

How we are funded

COMANORA is not yet a member of any affiliate programme. In future, some links may earn a commission when you buy; those links will always be marked Ad, and commission will never decide which products we recommend or the order we show them in. See our affiliate disclosure and how we research.
